Case Study: Stoughton Health - Stories of Patients and Community
Client Overview
Stoughton Health is a community hospital located on the outskirts of Madison, Wisconsin. With roughly 350 employees, this small but mighty facility has over 100 years of history in the community. Their culture is all about the people – patients, employees, and the community come first.
Holding the title of Spoken Frame Media’s first client, we’ve partnered with them since 2016 when our Founder and Creative Director, Wesley Morgan, was introduced to the team by his grandfather. Today, we continue to create a variety of videos to help this long-term partner promote their services and culture as they grow.
Our Initial Challenge
With a small internal marketing department, Stoughton Health needed a cost-effective video specialist–someone who could offer creative and collaborative story ideas, handle production logistics, and integrate well within their existing team. Beyond the challenge of creating videos, Stoughton Health wanted the message of their content to showcase what’s possible for patients in life after surgery. As our partnership grew, we also uncovered the challenge of employee recruitment and the hospital’s efforts to acquire top talent.
Our Project Objective
Our first project was to create a series of testimonial videos featuring positive patient results. To achieve that in a way that showcased the community culture of Stoughton Health, we landed on our project objective:
Tell real patient stories by featuring their lifestyles, visiting their homes, and capturing life beyond the hospital.
This authenticity remained an important theme as our partnership grew into other types of videos. We created a series of employee recruitment videos, interviewing employees and teams who could speak to the workplace culture. We also produced a handful of videos highlighting the hospital’s unique set of services, including orthopedics, general surgery, and urgent care.
Our Approach
With all of our clients, we prioritize a seamless integration with their existing team. Not only do we take pride in what we do as video production specialists, but we also ground ourselves in a client’s mission so we are fully invested in the story they want to tell.
Meshing with Stoughton Health’s internal marketing department looked like learning and engaging with their culture, sharing creative ideas, and being proactive with the production process.
With all of our healthcare clients, we’re especially thoughtful of respecting both patient privacy and the demands of a bustling workplace.
Another important aspect of our approach to any client partnership is capturing high-quality, evergreen b-roll. Over the years, we’ve built up a backlog of video content for Stoughton Health that allows us to repurpose footage for new projects without hauling out an entire crew.
Our Results
Just as Spoken Frame Media has grown over the span of our partnership, so has Stoughton Health. Many of our videos–created for TV spots–have provided higher volumes for the organization, resulting in better turnouts for their promoted classes and events.
Our employee recruitment videos had a direct impact on their recruitment efforts by not only increasing their numbers but also helping them to fill challenging positions.
