Create an anniversary video in 24 hours? Challenge accepted.
Hodge Podge - a cafe in Verona, was quickly approaching its one-year business anniversary.
To commemorate the event, owners Katie and Kevin reached out to Spoken Frame Media in hopes of creating a celebratory video they could share on Instagram.
But there was one issue. Due to our schedules, we only had 24 hours to get the video together if we wanted to release it on the anniversary date.
Thankfully, I spend a lot of time at the cafe when not in the office or on production.
We scheduled filming for the day before the anniversary - a Monday when the cafe was closed.
Because the video would be posted specifically to Instagram Reels, we filmed every shot vertically (a first for us).
To further optimize the video for Instagram, we also included closed captions so people scrolling without sound could still get the full effect.
Additionally, we filmed the b-roll in 120fps, which allowed us to create some awesome slo-mo shots of the coffee drinks.
With the tight turnaround time, we immediately began editing at Hodge Podge (and were treated to some delicious drinks for motivation).
Hodge Podge posted the video the next day to a great response: 447 likes, 8909 views, and 45 comments.
Though a 24-hour turnaround isn’t our usual, we’re proud of how we pulled this one off.
